Libya turns to China to boost industrial sector

Minister of Industry and Minerals Ahmed Abu Heisa has received officials from Chinese companies to explore opportunities for cooperation in the field of mining and the cement industry.

Heisa expressed willingness to strengthen investment cooperation with China in all fields, with an emphasis on underperforming projects and industrial zones.

For their part, the Chinese officials said that they are looking forward to investing in Libya and are studying plans to establish cement factories in several regions in Libya.

The parties agreed to the need to cooperate with the National Mining Corporation to identify investment priorities.
