An oil leak in a pipeline linking Jalu and Al-Waha fields has forced the National Oil Corporation (NOC) to reduce production from this area, said a statement by the NOC today.

The leaking occurred Monday at the (30- inch) line, some 28,300 km from the Jalu field towards Al-Waha.

Production will go down to 70-60 thousand barrels to allow the teams to monitor the situation and repair the damaged pipe.

The NOC indicated that it had reached out to the ministries of oil and gas and finance to provide the necessary budgets for the corporation and its companies and avoid actions that may disrupt the flow and continuation of production operations
