Minister of Economy declares Benghazi’s Jaliana Port a Free Zone

Minister of Economy and Trade Mohammed Al-Hawij officially declared from Benghazi Tuesday that the Jaliana Sea Port is a free trade zone.

The minister conducted yesterday an inspection tour to the port in the presence of the Undersecretary for Commercial Affairs, Suhail Abu Shiha, mayor of Benghazi, and several local and government officials.

Al-Hawij met during his visit with the management of the Libyan Ports Company to follow up on the progress of work and coordination between all competent authorities.

The minister got an insight into the procedures for regulating export and import operations and proposals for developing performance and raising the level of trade exchange.
