Libya, Spain discuss cooperation in transportation

The Libyan Deputy Minister of Transportation and Aviation, Hisham Abu Shakiwat, discussed Wednesday with the ambassador of Spain to Libya, Francisco Javier, facilitating the procedures required of Libyan commercial aviation students once they receive their funds and urged him to assist them in resuming their studies.

The meeting in Tripoli also reviewed measures done by the Ministry of Transportation regarding comprehensive transport lines in Libya that is being operated by a Spanish company.

The two sides talked about the visits paid to Libya by Airport Authority delegates to Spanish companies to get to know the manufacturers to help bolster the capabilities of the Libyan cadres of the Airports Authority.

They also discussed cooperation in radar coverage and aviation, as well as ports and sea transportation.

Abu Shakiwat urged the Spanish ambassador to reopen his country’s embassy in Libya to boost joint cooperation and ease visa procedures for Libyans.
