The National Oil Corporation and Eni provide advanced medical equipments to the National Institute of Oncology Sabratha and are following up the implementation of establishing the desalination plant project at Sabratha Hospital.

As part of the National Oil Corporation’s support for the health sector and sponsored by the Italian company Eni, on Tuesday, February 16, 2021, the National Institute of Oncology Sabratha has been provided with advanced medical equipment for the Department of Tissues ‘Pathology’ by NOC and ENI.
The equipments are as follows :
– Immunohistochemistry Staining system, Fully automated IHC&ISH Bond III .
– Tissue processor.
– Rotary Microtome.
According to specialists at the Institute of Oncology that the addition of this immune system to the department of tissues will constitute a major shift within the hospital and will greatly alleviate the suffering of patients and the great costs of conducting such types of tests, which were conducted outside the country at very expensive prices, and constitute a great burden on patients, also it will contribute to determine the type of tumor accurately, which will help in choosing the appropriate treatment for the patient.
The visit also included inspecting the latest developments regarding the implementation of the desalination plant project at Sabratha Hospital, which is one of the NOC’s projects and sponsored by the Italian company Eni, where a number of 3 wells were dug and work is under way on the construction of a assembly tank with a capacity of 170 cubic meters and the foundations of the desalination plant with a capacity of 300 cubic meters per day, as well as the maintenance and renovation of the existing pumping station, maintenance of the existing reservoir, renovation of equipment and the provision of pumps in addition to providing a water analysis laboratory, and the completion of this project is about 70%.
At the end of the visit, Dr. Khalifa Al Ammari, Manager of the Oncology Institute, honored the National Oil Corporation and Eni for their continued support to the Oncology Institute, which is the first destination for Oncology patients.
