The countdown to reopen the Ras Lanuf Airport has begun said the National Oil Company (NOC) Sunday.
The NOC stressed that operations are at peak to bring life back to the airport, which belongs to the Harouge Oil Operations Company.
The working teams finished the cleaning work around the runway, conducted painting work, and linked the electrical cable connections of the Beacon device, the NOC explained, noting that this was all achieved by self-efforts of the company’s employees.
The team also dug up a 1,800 meters path for the electrical cable, besides installing an electrical transformer and other equipment, indicating that such work in the past was carried out through bidding by service companies.
