The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, Adel Jumaa, confirmed that the decision to cancel Saturday as a day off is aimed at assisting the ministry in implementing its protection plan regarding the spacing of students and pupils within their schools, by a measured system of spacing, but also aiding in the ability to implement the school curriculum.
This system relies on the necessity for students to attend schools three days a week, as per the instructions of the Minister of Education.
Jumaa indicated that the Minister of Education issued instructions on the need to coordinate with both the Ministry of Finance and Labour in order to develop an estimation for employees rights regarding work performed on what was previously a day off, with emphasis on ensuring the financial rights of the employees.
