The annual meeting to review the activity of Mellitah Oil and Gas Company headed by Eng. Mustafa Sanallah, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Oil Corporation, discussed the company’s activities and its various departments during the year 2020, and the proposed work programs and budget for the year 2021, in the meeting held on Tuesday December 29, 2020 at the headquarters of Sirte Production And the manufacture of oil and gas in Marsa Brega.
Where the activity of health, safety, environmental protection and quality was discussed with the directives of the Board of Directors of the National Oil Corporation, stressing the importance of adhering to health, safety and environment standards, following the basic rules for the safety of workers and operations, following up the implementation of environmental protection programs, and adhering to the application of precautionary measures and preventive measures necessary to contain the spread of infection with the virus Covid 19.
Reservoir engineering, development drilling operations, well maintenance, onshore and offshore projects in the oil and gas branches, and the activities of the legal, information and communication technology departments were also discussed. The report of the supervisory authority and the observations it contained related to the company’s business were also reviewed.
Eng. Mustafa Sanallah praised the efforts of the company’s employees in various land and sea sites as they defy the difficulties in order to increase production, praising the steps taken in the implementation of the project (developing marine structures A&E), which is a strategic project that will contribute to enhancing production capacity and compensating for the depleted gas reserves from the current fields. .
He added, “Mellitah Company was able to maintain production operations from the offshore fields and Al-Wafa field and thus maintain gas supplies to power stations during the year 2020, despite the difficult financial conditions, the spread of the Corona pandemic, and the absence of specialized service companies, so that matters reached a severe shortage in the provision of supply.” The necessary and basic materials for operation, and contributed to the acceleration of the return of production from the rest of the fields in record time, especially from the field of Abu Al-Tafel.
We hope that the company, headed by the new operator management committee, will work to update its internal system and rely on the self-capabilities and expertise elements of the Libyans in the implementation of the work.
For his part, Mr. Muhammad bin Shatwan congratulated the Sirte company for the high rates it achieved in the level of production in light of these difficult circumstances, stressing that the companies’ meeting today in the Brega Marina is nothing but an embodiment and confirmation of the unity of the oil sector in our beloved country, Libya
Bin Shatwan stressed that the company is preparing to implement mega projects, including the project to develop the two offshore installations (A&E) in the Mediterranean, the expansion of the Mellitah industrial complex and the project to exploit the mullet gas.
The members of the Board of Directors made observations through which they emphasized the importance of completing the gas delivery project to the Zuwara desalination plant to provide water to the neighboring areas and work on employing technology in issuing financial reports and production reports and giving priority and attention to young cadres in terms of training and qualification, including them in all work and giving them the opportunity To carry out its duties properly.
The meeting was attended by members of the Board of Directors, Abul Qasim Shanqir, Jadallah Al-Awakli, Al-Amari Muhammad, Mr. Abdul Baset Al-Rifai, Chairman of the Owners Committee, Mr. Khairy Sola, member of the Owners Committee, Mr. Muhammad bin Shatwan, Chairman of the Operator Management Committee for Mellitah Company, and Messrs Muhammad Qashout and Muhammad Jaber, members of the Committee Management, general directors and directors of departments of the National Oil Corporation and Mellitah Company and the chairman and members of the Supervisory Board.
