The Sirte Oil Company (SOC) has confirmed that the crude oil spill from the 36-inch line extending from Zelten field to Brega at 112 km is under control.
The company said in a statement on Facebook Wednesday that it required continuing coordination and efforts of all departments to get the spilling under control.
Repair teams installed a 2-meter metal pellet around the damaged part of the pipeline to stop the leakage, the SOC said, stressing that the spilled oil has been cleared and oil is now flowing normally through the pipeline.
The company said that engineers and technicians are following closely the functioning of this line to issue the recommendations required.
