Libya And Malta Sign Two MOUs In Maritime And Air Transport

 Libya and Malta have signed two memoranda of understanding in the maritime and aviation sectors, according to a report published by the Maltese ‘Newsbook’ Website. The memos were signed by Libya’s Transport Minister Milad Ma’atog and his Maltese Counterpart Ian Borg. The first MOU concerns cooperation in the maritime and aviation sectors, Newsbook said, adding it provided for cooperation between the two countries on a technical level with regard to aspects like port administration, aviation, maritime safety, accident investigation in these sectors and cooperation in international fora. According to the Newsbook website, the agreement considered the possibility of bilateral aviation agreements as well as the possibility of passenger connectivity between the two countries, the registration of Libya aircraft on the Maltese registry and cooperation of knowledge about latest practices between Malta and Libya.

The agreements, the website said, provided for an action plan for the prevention of pollution whereby Libya and Malta will have the opportunity to establish a platform to share knowledge and information about several aspects related to this matter.
