Call for Expression of Interest
Civil Society Organizations Capacity Building
Eastern and Southern Libya
This call is for local NGOs/civil society organisations working on humanitarian issues in the East or the South of Libya, who would like to build their technical capacity in providing comprehensive care through trainings with ACTED, in 2020.
What is the objective of this project?
In cooperation with and funded by UNHCR, ACTED plans to work with approximately 20 CSOs through the course of the year to enhance service provision in the East and South of Libya. This intervention will build on the successful trainings that took place with participants from Benghazi, Derna and Ajdabiya during 2019. Because first responders are often local organizations, ACTED wants to engage directly with local partners and support them in responding to the vulnerabilities of the families, children, women and men in need of assistance .
The intervention will provide technical support to local CSOs through a one week-long in person training workshop and further support with the application of their learning. The outcome of the training workshop will be to enhance technical knowledge of humanitarian principles and protection mainstreaming, and to advance case management skills, report writing, and the frameworks that are in place for managing information, among other topics identified by the participants themselves. ACTED Libya country office is inviting Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to submit their expression of interest by filling out the application form to participate in these workshops in Benghazi or in Sebha.
Who can apply?
This intervention supports local CSOs who are working on the well-being and care of children, women and girls, youth, elderly and disabled populations, as well as other high-risk populations of concern. In addition, applicant organizations must be registered with the civil society commission, with an updated renewal for 2020. Please refer to the application form for other important questions. Accommodation and travel for CSOs based outside of Benghazi and Sebha will be covered. CSOs situated in the South, and in the East outside of Benghazi will be prioritized.
Participation will be based on the success of each application and may require CSOs to nominate a minimum number of participants, based on available spaces.
How and when to apply?
Please download the following application form and send a fully completed version back to ACTED with supporting documents on libya.grants@acted.org. For any queries or information, please write to us at the same email address.
