The annual meeting of Mellitah Oil and Gas Company for the year 2019 was held at NOC headquarters in Tripoli, headed by NOC Chairman. The activities for the year 2019 of oil and gas branches including health, safety, environmental protection and quality activities, earth sciences and reservoir engineering, operations, development drilling, production and maintenance, as well as land and marine projects, joint strategic projects such as the project to develop gas discoveries for marine installations (A E), development of Mellitah Industrial Complex, treatment and re-injection of carbon dioxide, Bouri field gas exploitation project, gas compression unit project at Sabratha platform, Bouri field development project second phase, information and communication technology, the legal and financial situation for the company were reviewed. The goals and programs for the year 2020, the performance of the fields, oil and gas reserves, expected production rates of free and associated oil and gas for the coming years, and approved budgets will be discussed.
The attendees also discussed the various projects that the company is implementing to increase production and ensure continuity of operations, including reservoir and laboratory studies, development drilling projects, maintenance and repair of wells. The remarks of the Chairman of the Owners Committee and the Chairman of the Supervisory Board were heard.
NOC Chairman praised the exceptional efforts made by the company’s employees in their various land and sea production sites to advance the Libyan oil sector for achievements that the company has made during the current year, mainly in increasing gas production rates in Wafa field by adding new gas wells, completing the second phase of Bahr Al-Salam project, and raising the productive capacity of Al-Tafel field, despite the difficult conditions and security challenges and sabotage actions faced by a number of the company’s fields. The Chairman also valued the efforts of the company’s management and its employees for their unprecedented sacrifices in reaching the desired goal in a professional way.
Chairman of Mellitah Oil and Gas Company’s Management Committee expressed his appreciation and gratitude to NOC Chairman and members of the Board of Directors for their continuous and permanent support to the company’s management and its employees in overcoming all challenges despite the circumstances and challenges.
NOC Chairman and members of the Board of Directors affirmed their utmost concern that the company attaches to environmental and occupational safety programs for workers and operations safety, as well as the necessity of security and public safety procedures, and adherence to discipline in the production sites, and giving priority to the youth component of the company and paying attention to their training and qualification, and involving them in all the work that the company is implementing to give them the opportunity to fully carry out their duties, and the need to improve logistical services and to ensure the quantity and quality of food safety for all employees in the fields and ports affiliated with the company.
