Libya is seeking to sign an agreement with Russia to supply it with around one million tons of wheat annually.

This came on the sidelines of the Russian-African summit in Sochi, where the head of the Russian contact group on intra-Libyan settlement, Lev Dengov, clarified that the one-year contract is expected to be signed within a month to take effect by the beginning of 2020.

According to data from the Russian Ministry of Agriculture; Russia -which is the largest exporter of wheat in the world- supplied the Libyan market with about 330,000 tons of wheat last season.
