Director of the Information Department of the General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL), Mohamed Al-Takouri said that two units of Khoms gas station have entered the power grid with a total capacity of 230 megawatts.
“The added capacity will reduce the network deficit and load shedding hours,” Takouri said in a press statement, pointing out that some affected stations are still inaccessible, due to the continued fighting south of Tripoli.
In the same context, a source from the company confirmed the entry of the fourth unit of the Ubari gas station to service, in preparation for operating the plant with its full capacity in July next.
