What we offer?
A traineeship of up to 6 months within the Political, Press and Information Section of the EU Delegation to Libya (temporarily relocated to Tunis, Tunisia), starting in August 2019.
The Political, Press and Information (PPI) Section works closely with Libyan and international actors to contribute to the stabilisation and democratic transition of Libya. It maintains a wide network of contacts to keep itself informed about the situation in Libya and report to EEAS headquarters in Brussels. It hosts regular coordination meetings with EU member state embassies to coordinate positions and share information on political, security and economic developments, as well as on migration and human rights issues. Coordination meetings are also organised for member states embassies on cooperation and consular affairs. Finally, the PPI section is responsible for producing a daily press review, as well as for strategic communication on the European Union, its values and its activities in Libya.
Main tasks:
- Monitor and contribute to the analysis of political, security, economic and migration developments in Libya;
- Support the preparation of – and reporting on – meetings held by the EU Delegation with EU Member States embassies, Libyan stakeholders, diplomatic community, civil society, etc.
- Contribute to press and communication activities as well as events organised by the Delegation ;

Important information
Before applying you are requested to examine the dedicated website as well as the general eligibility criteria for a paid traineeship (Article 8 of the Decision ADMIN(2017)28 – Paid traineeship)
Each selected trainee will receive a monthly grant to contribute to living expenses. The rate for Tunisia is currently 400 EUR/month. All costs related to travel to/from and inside the country of residence, visa, insurance and accommodation must be borne by the trainee.
Applications from non-eligible candidates will not be considered. After the evaluation of all applications, shortlisted candidates will be contacted and invited for an interview. Unsuccessful candidates will be notified by email. In case the selected candidate is not able to present the required documents, his/her candidacy will be rejected.
