Libyan Oil Corporation is considering increasing cooperation with US companies

NOC chairman held a series of meetings with a number of American companies during his visit to Houston to discuss the latest technologies in the framework of the procurement campaign of 60 billion dollars to achieve the goal of raising production to 2.1 million barrels of oil per day by 2023.

NOC stated that the chairman met the director of Caterpillar Europe, Africa and the Middle East to review the company’s activities in Libya, including a $ 150 million contract for its Solar Turbines company specializing in power generation equipment as well as opportunities for joint cooperation and the possibility of future projects.

He also met the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Coeler & McNotan Petroleum Consultancy, to discuss ways of joint cooperation, feasibility of reservoir studies, field development, reserve assessment, and technical support for NOC companies.

NOC in Tripoli is internationally recognized in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 2362, which is responsible for monitoring the production and export operations to ensure its approval of the rules and regulations in addition to following up and inspecting the production of oil, gas and other petroleum products and measurements of quantities exported abroad.

Libya’s revenues from crude oil exports in the first three months of this year rose by 4.4 billion dollars, and crude oil exports account for 96 percent of the total exports of the Libyan economy.

Oil revenues also contribute to the country’s fiscal revenue by 95 per cent. Oil revenues rose to $ 24.4 billion in 2018, by 78 percent from 2017.
