GECOL conducts maintenance program as summer approaches

he General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) said that it had sent four trucks from the company’s warehouses in Tripoli loaded with spare parts to the Sarrir gas-fired power plant for the maintenance of the first turbine.

“These measures come as part of the efforts to upgrade the electrical grid to meet the summer peak, following the signing of maintenance agreements for the plants of Sarrir, Zueitina, and North Benghazi,” GECOL stated.

The company pointed to the near completion of work on the power transmission towers and the return of 3 turbines of Sarrir station to service, with a capacity of up to 700 MW.
