Libyan ambassador to Italy meets US, EU counterparts in Rome

The Libyan Ambassador to Italy, Omar Al-Tarhouni met on Monday at the Libyan Embassy in Rome, with ambassadors and chargé d’affaires of the United States, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, the Czech Republic, and Malta.

The meeting focused on specific challenges, the most important of which was the political deadlock in Libya, preparation of the UN-backed National Conference, the United Nations Support Mission’s role in Libya, and the economic and security arrangements overseen by the Presidential Council’s Government.

For their part, the ambassadors reaffirmed their countries’ support to the Libyan state at all levels.
