The Chairman of Tunisair, Elias Mencabi, said Sunday that flight operations will be resumed to Libyan airports after conducting site visits to the airports in the coming days.

“The Libyan market is very important to Tunisair and represents 24% of the company’s transactions,” Mencabi told the London-based Al-Araby Al-Jadeed website, pointing out that the suspension of flights is costing the company about half a million passengers a year.

He also explained that they were in the process of resuming flights last September to three Libyan airports, following the report of the technical committee conducted last May, which confirmed the readiness of these airports, logistically, but recent security developments in Libya prevented the implementation of the plan.
