Maintenance work was initiated in the oil pipeline running from Al-Zakot-Sidra to Sidra’s port after firefighters managed to control the fire that broke out in the pipeline last Saturday, the National Oil Corporation (NOC) confirmed.
Al-Waha Oil Company revealed earlier that the pipeline was exposed to “a terrorist attack.”
The National Oil Corporation said that the halt of the pipeline has affected the production by nearly 80 thousand barrels per day, explaining that the maintenance process might take a few days.
The NOC praised what it said the “brave work of the firefighters and maintenance team, which responded to the incident in a highly professional manner.”
