The Tunisian-African Business Council announced Friday the foundation of the Tunisian-Libyan Business Council in Tunisia.

The head of the Tunisian-Libyan Business Council, Bassam El-Wakil, explained in a press statement that “the aim of the step is to restore the dynamism to the Tunisian-Libyan relations.”

“The recent years were characterized by the absence of commercial rapprochement between the two countries,” he said, stressing that the Libyan economy is experiencing an economic recovery.

El-Wakil pointed out that the Libyan Central Bank had allocated $ 4 billion for the supply of foodstuff, adding that Tunisia must enjoy the largest share by at least 25 percent.

“The Libyan state also allocated $ 2 billion for the restructuring of the oil infrastructure. Tunisia is expected to be a partner in these reforms.” He concluded.
