NOC Chairman met the Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Libya and his accompanying delegation in the presence of NOC Director of International Cooperation and discussed the prospects of cooperation between NOC and the British oil companies and addressed the most prominent problems and difficulties facing the oil and gas sector in Libya, including deterioration of security conditions in some areas adjacent to fields and smuggling of oil derivatives through land and sea ports and their impact on the national economy as well as the role of British companies and their contribution to the redevelopment of the oil and gas sector in Libya.
The ambassador pointed to the desire of a number of British companies specialized in the field of oil and gas to return to Libya to operate.
The development and training programs and the role of British universities and training centers in the rehabilitation and development of national cadres was also discussed and NOC Chairman pointed to the need to facilitate the procedures of obtaining the British visa and resumption of training and development activities.
