For one, the Libyan ordinary citizens are suffering on a daily basis form inadequate food commodities, lack of power and water governmental supply, fuel supply, and safe and beneficial education to kids as well as adults, and the list goes on.
For the second, the ordinary Libyan citizens of the oil-rich country are being deprived of their own rights to receive their salaries as they have to spend hours every week at the doors of banks to cash out little of what they own in their bank accounts, Let alone the suffering they endure when their salaries had become worthless with the devaluation of the Libyan dinar and the rocketing of both exchange rates in the black market and the prices of foods and other basic goods like medicines.
With all those dilemmas, Libyans have found themselves between two evils or as the Greek put it “between Scylla and Charybdis” as they are faced with the injustice of the governmental system and the economic conditions that are only applied on the poor and the ordinary citizens, besides the lack of security and job opportunities.
In the meantime, politicians are still clinging to their posts and living off the suffering of the ordinary people as they continue to receive the privileges, high salaries, foreign currencies with the official Central Bank rates, allowances for travel, hotel rooms abroad, and so on and so forth, in return of sugarcoated words and statements announcing, denouncing and condemning what goes on in the war-ravaged country.
Amid such insecurity and uncertainty, Libyans are preying on each other and they had devised new ways of making profit from each other’s misery, such as food, goods, medicines and other basic services in exchange of bank certified checks.
If a certain amount of goods and foods shall be bought by 100 Libyan dinars in cash, nowadays some crooks are offering Libyans, who don’t have cash because the governments in the country are somehow busy fighting the game of thrones, to buy it by 150 dinars in bank certified checks.
This new trend is the latest in Libya, with people offering the ordinary citizens choices to buy anything they need with 50% interests or sometimes more via a certified check, only because the Libyan UN-backed Government of National Accord, eastern Interim Government, the Tobruk-based House of Representatives, and the High Council of State are too busy doing politics.
