Libya launches new operations room to combat human smuggling and terrorism

Italy announced establishment of a new operations room in cooperation with Libya to combat transnational crime including human smuggling and terrorism.

The Italian embassy in Libya said that the room was activated today in Rome in the presence of Interior Minister via its official Twitter account.  It did not clarify the role of Libya in this room and did not mention any of the Libyan parties that participated in its establishment and also  the identity of this room is vague.

It pointed that the room will strengthen cooperation at the level of the judiciary and the police, strengthen the rule of law, rights, guarantees and increase the exchange of information.
