Chairman of the Management Committee of the Arabian Gulf Oil Company (AGOCO), Mohammed bin Shatwan, announced on Sunday the company’s success in converting an oil well from a gas industrial lift system to an advanced system in Nafoura field.

The company explained on its Facebook page that it had succeeded in converting the G224 well from an artificial gas lift system to an advanced “sucker rod” system as part of the company’s efforts to implement the National Oil Corporation’s plan to increase production, expecting the production capacity to reach about 600 barrels of crude oil per day.

The company said that this step comes as part of its efforts to maintain production continuity under difficult operating conditions, reduce the need for frequent maintenance, and ensure the highest levels of production, in addition to raising operating efficiency and enhancing the continuity of oil operations in the field.
