The Director of the technical department at the Jaliana Free Zone Port, Salah Al-Senussi, confirmed the resumption of work of the shipping line “LINEA MESSINA.”

Al-Senussi added, in a statement to the Libyan News Agency, that the line connects the port of Genoa in Italy directly with the port of the Jaliana Free Zone.

He explained that the first ship belonging to the line arrived at the port of Benghazi on Monday, carrying 17 containers for one of the shipping agency companies, and the workers began unloading it directly, adding that it left the port four hours after its arrival.

Al-Senussi pointed out that the last shipment of the LINEA MESSINIA shipping line to Libya was in 2010. He pointed out that the return of this shipping line was preceded by the return of other international shipping lines, including one linking the UAE and Benghazi and another direct line linking the port of Turkey and the port of the Jaliana Free Zone.
