The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) and Zallaf Libya for Oil and Gas Exploration and Production have discussed securing an electrical energy source for the South Refinery project.

A coordination meeting took place, with participation from technical departments representing both sides.
During the meeting, the parties explored the feasibility of utilizing the fuel supply pipeline of the Ubari gas station, which runs close to the refinery site, to supply the refinery with crude oil.

GECOL emphasized that the initiative is part of a broader framework of collaborative efforts between the National Oil Corporation (NOC) (Zallaf) and GECOL, with the shared objective of enhancing services for the residents of the southern region.
