Bengdara to Dbeibah: Libya’s oil production to reach 2 million bpd by end of 2025

The Chairman of National Oil Corporation, Farhat Bengdara, confirmed during his meeting on Sunday with the Prime Minister, Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, that the corporation’s primary goal is to increase production to two million barrels per day (bpd) by the end of 2025.

Bengdara met with Dbeibah in Tripoli, in the presence of Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Adel Jumua, in order to follow up on the development plan for the oil and gas sector, and achieve the goals according to the timetables approved by the Council of Ministers.

Bengdara explained during the meeting that the corporation’s primary goal is to increase production to two million barrels per day by the end of next year, provided that the increase in production will be gradual according to the approved timetable. He added that the National Oil Corporation, along with the Ministry of Oil and Gas, are working to bring international companies in the oil field back to work in Libya and contribute to approved projects and plans to increase production.

Meanwhile, Dbeibah stressed the need to unify the efforts of all state institutions to increase production, develop the performance of subsidiaries, and disclose all projects and various data. He also called for supporting the Libyan private sector specialized in this field and include it with a number of foreign companies in these partnerships to raise the efficiency of Libyan cadres.
