PM Dbeibah asks Minister of Economy to prepare import budget for 2024.

The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, has directed the necessity of organizing the conditions and work of the Ministry of Economy, and preparing a proposal for the import budget according to the necessary needs for food and medicine.

PM Dbeibah reviewed a number of files related to the work of the Ministry of Economy and Trade, during his meeting with the Minister of Economy and Trade, Mohammed Al-Hawij, and the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Suhail Abu Shiha, according to the ministry.

During the meeting, Al-Hawij reviewed the ministry’s goals in the year 2024, the proposed organizational procedures for the ministry’s offices, the proposal prepared for the import budget for the current year, and coordination with the Central Bank of Libya regarding implementation.

The Ministry of Economy says that it has the inherent competence in preparing and organizing the import budget according to estimated revenues from hard currency, and determining needs for basic and consumer materials and other items.

For his part, Dbeibah stressed the need for the Ministry to exercise its powers in this regard in coordination with the Central Bank of Libya.
