Minister of Economy invites French firms to invest in Libyan energy, oil and gas sectors.

The Minister of Economy and Trade, Mohammed Al-Huweij, discussed with the French ambassador to Libya, Mostafa Mihraje, aspects of economic and trade cooperation between the two countries, discussing in a meeting held in Tripoli establishing and rebuilding the role of the joint Libyan-French Chamber of Commerce to facilitate trade exchange and overcome all difficulties facing business owners in both countries.

Al-Huweij stressed the importance of cooperation with French companies in agricultural and livestock systems, food security, and training and qualification of human cadres. He called on French companies to invest in the fields of energy, oil and gas in Libya, noting the Ministry’s readiness to provide possible facilities to French companies and investors to enter the Libyan market to create a true partnership with the private sector that helps improve the national economy.

He also extended an invitation to French companies to participate in the activities of the Tripoli International Fair scheduled to be held next month, stressing the necessity of granting visas to Libyans from within the French embassy in Libya.

The French ambassador stressed the necessity of organizing a joint economic forum in the capital, Tripoli this year, noting that the embassy is working to provide visa procedures for Libyans through the Tripoli office before the end of the year.
