Turkish Airlines Resumes Flights to Libya, Boosting Economic Prospects
Turkish Airlines has resumed flights to the Libyan capital, Tripoli, marking a significant step towards bolstering the country’s economy after a decade-long hiatus. The decision to reinstate operations is viewed as a pivotal move in reviving crucial support for Libya’s economic growth, with many advocating for the return of foreign airlines to the region.
In a statement released by the airline’s press office, the inaugural flight to Mitiga International Airport was successfully conducted today, with the participation of Turkish Airlines’ CEO, Bilal Eksi, and other officials. Eksi expressed his delight at the resumption of flights, highlighting the airline’s commitment to fostering connections across continents, this time extending to Tripoli, the Libyan capital.
“We are thrilled as Turkish Airlines to connect continents, this time in Tripoli, the capital of Libya. We are pleased to recommence our flights to Libya, a country with which we share historical ties. With a growing and evolving market, we travel to Africa and beyond, bridging cultures through developing and transformative industrial investments. We believe in the increasing significance of tourism and trade on the continent,” Eksi stated.
Passengers flying with Turkish Airlines can now travel from Istanbul to Tripoli will operate flights to Tripoli three days a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, utilizing Boeing B737-78D aircraft.
The resumption of Turkish Airlines’ flights to Libya not only signifies a positive development in air travel but also holds promise for the economic landscape of the region.
