Central Bank Governor reviews in Paris French support for Libya.

The Governor of the Central Bank of Libya (CBL), Al-Siddiq Al-Kabir, met with the Executive Director of the International French Companies Movement Foundation and discussed cooperation with French companies to contribute to supporting the National Oil Corporation and the General Electricity Company in Libya.

The two sides also discussed the opportunities available to French companies to work in Libya, and the importance of working to diversify sources of income and encourage the private sector, support the National Oil Corporation and the General Electricity Company, open the way for renewable energies, and develop the health, water and sanitation sectors.
The meeting took place in the presence of the French Ambassador to Libya Mostafa Mihraje, and a number of French companies, institutions and ministries at the headquarters of the International Foundation in Paris.

Al-Kabir also met at the Elysee Palace with the French envoy Paul Soler and Ambassador Mihraje, discussing the approval a unified budget for Libya and rationalizing spending. He also met with the Deputy Director of the North Africa and Middle East Department at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to discuss the CBL’s role in monetary and financial stability and the issue of the unknown Libyan banknotes, as well as their effects on the exchange rate in the parallel market, according to CBL media office.
