Bin Gudara and Norland discuss the corporation’s steps to stabilize production and investment in the oil and gas sector

Today, Wednesday, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Oil Corporation, Farhat Ben Gudara, received the Ambassador and Special Envoy of the United States to Libya, Ambassador Richard Norland, and Chargé d’Affairs, Jeremy Brandt, at the Corporation’s main headquarters in Tripoli.
The meeting discussed the need to ensure the stability of oil and gas production and investment in it, and the corporation’s steps to combat fuel smuggling. It also touched on opportunities and issues related to the Libyan oil sector.

Norland affirmed the United States’ support for the National Oil Corporation in its work to reduce gas flaring and methane emissions in order to fulfill Libya’s pledges within the “Thinking Tomorrow” initiative launched by the head of the corporation at the 28th United Nations Climate Change Conference to ensure better exploitation of Libya’s resources and climate protection.
