Libya, Italy unify chambers of commerce to facilitate bilateral trade

The Libyan-Italian Chamber of Commerce in Tripoli and its counterpart in Rome signed an agreement to complete the unification of the two chambers.

The signing ceremony took place at the Italian Embassy in Tripoli, in the presence of the Italian Ambassador, Gianluca Alberini, and the President of the General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Mohamed Al-Raaed.

As per the agreement, the Libyan-Italian Chamber of Commerce will act as the legal representative of the Libyan side in the Rome-based chamber. The two chambers will operate under a single name and logo to boost trade exchange between the two countries.

According to the Italian news agency Nova, the first activity of the unified bilateral chamber will be to organize a central business forum in the coming weeks, in addition to the Tripoli International Fair scheduled from May 15 to 21.
