Task
In 2016 Relief and Development department of People in Need initiated creation of own behavioural competency model in order to have a tool serving for the identification and description of behavioural competencies necessary for effective job performance. We are looking for online volunteers who will translate our Competency Model from English to several languages: French, Russian, Arabic or Portuguese.Volunteers will work 5-10 hours per week by mutual agreement. The translation consists of two parts – introduction of PIN competency model (27 slides presentation) and competency model behaviour description (11 pages). It should not take more than 50 hours total.
Background and objectives
In cooperation with People in Need’s 20 country programs the competency model has been gradually introduced into all relevant HR procedures not only at Headquarters level but also at country programs’ level. With regard to the working language in some of our country programs, there is a need to translate the model into several local languages: Russian, Arabic, Portuguese and French. Specifically the French is needed for the implementation of the competency model in Democratic Republic of Congo, where People in Need has been providing humanitarian and development assistance since 2008 and during this period has employed tens of national staff.
Requirements
– Arabic native speaker – fluent in English – previous experience with translation – interest in Human Resources (advantage)
