The Governor of the Central Bank of Libya (CBL), Al-Siddiq Al-Kabir, has met with the Director of the Middle East and Central Asia Department at the International Monetary Fund, Jihad Azour, the Executive Director of the Libya Group in the Fund, Hussein Husseini, and the team of experts responsible for consultations at the Fund.
During the meeting, which was held at the headquarters of the International Monetary Fund in Washington, on Monday, they reviewed the financial and economic conditions in Libya, the CBL efforts to maintain financial sustainability, and the progress made in technical cooperation programs between the two sides.
They agreed to launch a package of joint programs for the year 2023, lay down a road map for their implementation, and discuss efforts to recover loans granted by the Libyan state before 2010.
