Minister of Economy and Trade, Mohamed Al-Hawij, met on Monday with the Ambassador of Malta to Libya, Charles Saliba, at the Ministry’s Headquarters in Tripoli, to discuss trade relations and to invite Maltese companies to work in Libya.
The minister urged the Maltese ambassador to encourage the Maltese companies to invest in Libya, stressing the keenness of the Ministry of Economy and Trade to provide the necessary facilities to Maltese companies and to provide them with the appropriate working environment.
The minister stressed the need to promote the role of businessmen and chambers of commerce by organizing joint exhibitions designed to facilitate networking among the two countries’ business people and investors, and organize a partnership in support of trade, industry, agriculture, and investment and to exchange experiences.
Al-Hawij also discussed with the Maltese ambassador the obstacles facing the Maltese companies to resume their work in Libya, and ways to address them, calling for the resumption of Maltese airline flights to Libya.
For his part, the Maltese ambassador expressed the desire of the Maltese companies to resume their work in Libya.
