The Governor of the Central Bank of Libya (CBL) Al-Siddiq Al-Kabir, and his deputy, Ali Al-Hibri, met Saturday with the US ambassador to Libya, Richard Norland, and informed him of the progress in the process of unifying the CBL.
A statement by the CBL said the first achievement on the track of unification was sending cash funds from Tripoli-based CBL to its brach bank in Benghazi (five cash deliveries) to be then distributed to all commercial banks in eastern region during Ramadan (April 02 to May 02).
The last of the five cash deliveries to Benghazi, which started on last Saturday, was worth 100 million dinars and it arrived in the city on Wednesday, while the CBL said it intended to send a billion dinars worth delivery to Benghazi soon.
