Commercial banks in the eastern region will start receiving cash from the Tripoli-based Central Bank of Libya (CBL) starting from Saturday, according to the dates specified and agreed in advance between the bank’s board of directors, the CBL has confirmed.

According to the CBL, the first shipment amounts to one billion dinars, based on coordination between the CBL Governor Seddik El-Kaber, and his deputy, Ali Al-Hibri.

“The sending of cash shipments comes within the framework of efforts to unify the Central Bank to provide cash liquidity in all bank branches as the month of Ramadan approaches,” the CBL said on Facebook.
