Director of the Commercial Department at the Ministry of Economy, Mustafa Al-Qarar, said that Libya is seeking to buy 150,000 tons of flour by the public sector to control prices before the month of Ramadan.
Al-Qarar added that the state is looking for alternative markets to Ukraine, with the world markets witnessing record increases in wheat prices.
Data from the Socialist Ports Company stated that during the period from February 20 to March 17, 100,000 tons of soft and hard wheat imported by the private sector from European Union countries entered Libyan ports.
