On Monday morning, February 14, 2022, a handover ceremony was held at Jadu municipal headquarters between the NOC and the Jadu Municipal Council for the project to build a 1,000 cubic meter concrete water tank for the purpose of collecting the water of the “Al-Metllawi’s wells” before pumping it to the city to the municipality.
The NOC and its partner the Repsol Coalition have supported Jadu Municipality in an earlier phase to resolve the issue of water supply by providing submersible pumps, repellent pumps, sealants and generators to operate the “Al-Metllawi’s wells” as well as a number of pipes (IPE) to connect the wells to the reservoir that was built.
The handover ceremony, which was held in the Jadu Municipal Office, was attended by The Dean of The Municipality of Jadu, Mr. Omar Tabona, the Manager of the Sustainable Development Department of the NOC, Mr. Mokhtar Abduldaem, the Manager of Sustainable Development at Repsol, Ms. Nada Al-Atrash, representatives of the technical team overseeing implementation, a number of municipal members of the Volunteering Team called “For Water in Jadu”, the city’s elders and the former Mayor of Jadu, Mr. Saeed Al-Badrani.
