The German Ambassador to Libya, Michael Ohnmacht, has said his country stands ready for assistance as he welcomed efforts to unify the Central Bank of Libya (CBL), the CBL confirmed in a statement on Facebook.

Ohnmacht made his remarks during a meeting Monday with the Governor of the CBL, Sedek El Kabeer, in Tunisia. He described the steps taken in this direction as serious and emphasized his country’s readiness to provide technical support if the bank so desires.

Al-Sedek El Kabeer and his deputy, Ali Al-Hibri, had agreed, during a meeting earlier on Monday, to launch a process for unifying the Central Bank, according to the roadmap proposed by the international professional services company Deloitte.
